The Game flow

I mapped out the sequence of events and experiences players will encounter as they progress through the game. It involves guiding players through challenges, maintaining engagement, and ensuring a cohesive experience from start to finish.

The Design ops

The idea was to create an engaging and thrilling platform game where the player controls a panda on a mission to collect baby pandas while avoiding dangerous obstacles like a relentless tiger and a fire-breathing dragon.

I developed multiple poses and actions for the panda, including running, jumping, and collecting baby pandas. For the tiger and dragon, I illustrated dynamic animations to reflect their threatening nature.

Additionally, I designed and illustrated the game’s environments, from lush forests to treacherous terrains, ensuring each level was visually captivating. I also created the user interface elements, such as health bars and life counters, to maintain a cohesive visual style throughout the game.

With the narrative and visual elements in place, I transitioned to Unity scripting. Implementing the core gameplay mechanics was my first priority. The health points system was scripted to allow health replenishment through bamboo collection, and a life system was implemented, where the player starts with three lives and must restart the game once they are depleted.

Throughout the development process, I adopted a design thinking approach, constantly iterating on the game’s mechanics, narrative, and visuals. I tested and reworked elements based on feedback, ensuring that the game’s design was cohesive and the player experience was immersive.

I crafted a captivating story arc, complete with detailed backstories for the main characters: our brave panda protagonist, the adorable baby pandas, the fierce tiger, and the fearsome dragon.

Once the narrative was set, I moved on to designing the visual elements of the game. I started with detailed character designs, giving each character a distinctive and appealing look. The panda protagonist needed to be endearing yet brave, the baby pandas irresistibly cute, and the tiger and dragon suitably menacing.
